Mercato Amami Italia brings the warmth and friendly atmosphere of an Italian mercato to Weiden in the Upper Palatinate. It is about more than a quick shop. There is time for your questions, clear explanations and honest recommendations. Owner Massimo Azzarone and his team want you to feel welcome, discover something new with confidence and go home with an idea that suits you.

At the heart of the region
The Mercato is a meeting place for people from Weiden and the northern Upper Palatinate who want to experience Italian food culture personally.
Our Italian grocery shop is at Leibnizstraße 2 in Weiden. Customers from Weiden, Neustadt an der Waldnaab and across the northern Upper Palatinate will find authentic products for pasta dishes, antipasti platters, Italian menus, relaxed evenings and special gifts. Parking is available directly outside the shop.

In Italy, ordering a caffè will normally bring you an espresso. We also offer cappuccino and other coffee specialities made with beans from Italy.
Cornetto Sweet Italian breakfast pastry
A cornetto resembles a croissant, but is usually a little softer and sweeter. It is enjoyed plain or filled, for example with crema, chocolate or fruit.
Panino Filled Italian bread
Panino means a filled Italian bread, while panini is the plural. We prepare them fresh, for example with prosciutto, mortadella, mozzarella or pesto.
Piadina Thin Italian flatbread
Piadina comes from Emilia Romagna. This thin flatbread is warmed, filled with savoury ingredients and is ideal for a quick Italian meal.
Focaccia Light bread with olive oil
Focaccia is a soft yeast bread traditionally baked with olive oil. Enjoyed plain or topped, it makes a savoury Italian breakfast.
Dolci Italian sweet treats
Dolci is the collective term for sweet specialities. Depending on the daily selection, you may find cannoli, amaretti, biscotti and other Italian treats.
The selection and fillings may vary according to the daily offering. Please ask us which cornetti and freshly prepared specialities are currently available.

Salumi and formaggi
Salumi refers to Italian cured meats and ham specialities such as prosciutto, coppa or bresaola. Formaggi means cheeses such as Parmigiano Reggiano, pecorino, taleggio or gorgonzola.
Pasta and sughi
Pasta fresca is fresh pasta, while pasta secca is dried pasta. Sughi are Italian sauces, including sugo al pomodoro, ragù, arrabbiata and pesto Genovese.
Antipasti
Antipasti are Italian starters. They include olives, artichokes, aubergines, preserved peppers, sun dried tomatoes and other Mediterranean specialities.
Olio and aceto
Olio extra vergine means extra virgin olive oil. Aceto means vinegar. We advise you on uses, flavour and suitable combinations with aceto balsamico.
Dolci and caffè
Dolci are sweet Italian specialities such as cannoli, cantuccini, gianduia and seasonal panettone. Caffè, which in Italy usually means espresso, is the perfect accompaniment.
Vini and spirits

Optional services such as Google Maps and the review widget load only with your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with Section 25(1) TDDDG.
3. Hosting by united domains
When you visit the website, the hosting provider processes server logs containing your IP address, date, time, requested address, referrer and browser details. This supports secure operation, error analysis and IT security under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The data is stored only for as long as necessary for these purposes.
4. Cookies and access to your device

5. Google Maps
Google Maps, provided by Google Ireland Limited, loads in the map section only after you have given your express consent. 6. Review widget from widg3t.io
The review widget is loaded from widg3t.io. It displays reviews from the Google Business Profile and provides access to the Google review form. Your browser connects to widg3t.io only after you have given consent. In particular, your IP address, browser details, time and the page visited may be processed. Depending on the technical implementation, further connections to Google services may occur.
The legal basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with Section 25(1) TDDDG. Your choice is stored in your browser for no more than six months. You can change it at any time for the future in the cookie settings. Further information is available on the widg3t.io website.
7. Contact form and email programme
The contact form does not transfer any entries to our web server. The button only opens the email programme configured on your device and provides a prepared message. The email is sent to us through your chosen email provider only when you click Send yourself.
Depending on the selected subject, the email contains your name, email address, telephone number for specific pre-orders, subject line, message and any additional product details entered. Your email address is added as a CC recipient. For a planned pre-order, the product, quantity, requested collection date and requested collection time may also be included in the prepared email.
The website does not store form data on a server. After sending, only the providers involved in email transmission, Mercato Amami Italia and authorised staff process the submitted information. The required confirmation of the privacy policy documents only that it has been read and is not consent under data protection law.
The information marked as required is necessary to process your enquiry or pre-order. Without it, we cannot provide the requested service. No automated decision making or profiling takes place in connection with the contact form.
8. Retention period
Server logs are stored only temporarily. Your choice for the review widget remains on your device for no more than six months. Your choice for Google Maps is not stored. Emails and order data are retained only for as long as necessary to handle the enquiry, perform the contract and answer possible follow-up questions. Statutory retention obligations remain unaffected.
9. Recipients
Recipients may include our email provider, authorised staff and service providers where necessary for operation, communication or contract performance. After you have given consent, widg3t.io and Google may be additional recipients. Further disclosure takes place only where required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
10. Your rights
In particular, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection under Articles 15 to 21 GDPR. You may also lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority.
